Hi HamptonEdwards
Your credit or Charge Card Company will switch the charges to the suitable currency before it appears on your statement.
Most card companies exchange money at rates that are usually more positive than the rates you would get on your own at a retail store or hotel.
The currency exchange may take place days after your purchase, depending on when the merchant submits the charge to your card company and when it is processed.
It's possible that the exchange rate could be less positive at that time or it could be better. Most card issuers charge a currency change fee that may be added to your statement with each overseas acquire.
Cheers
Thank You

your statement will indicate a 3% fee for converting the foreign funds into US currency. It will normally appear as a "Foreign currency conversion adjustment."
